Why Bible Trivia?

In a world filled with TV, CDs, PCs, DVDs, PS3s, etc., sometimes our Bibles tend to gather a little dust. We want to encourage people to have fun playing Bible trivia games, and hopefully inspire them to dig a little deeper into God’s word.

Many times you can read a chapter or book in the Bible and not go back to it for a long time because you think, “Oh, I’ve already read that.” However, re-reading God’s word and/or meditating upon it can bring new insights and fresh revelations to your daily life where you begin to think, “Oh! I’ve never noticed that!” or “I never thought of it that way before!”

In a day and age where multiple sources of media bombard us and our families every day, we need to go back to the truth, to the moral foundations of society. We need wisdom and guidance in our everyday lives so we can truly experience the “abundant life” Jesus spoke about to His followers. In order to do these things, we need to dig into God’s Word. The results will be worth it!!!

 

God’s word has utmost value.
“ . . . you have exalted above all things your name and your word.” Psalm 138:2

 

While everything else will break, burn, fade, or eventually die, God’s word will last forever.
“Your word, O LORD, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens.”
Psalm 119:89

 

God’s word helps keep us from sinning.
“How can a young man keep his way pure?
By living according to your word . . . .
I have hidden your word in my heart
that I might not sin against you.” Psalm 119:9,11

 

God’s word is our guide in this life.
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
Psalm 119:105
