JAMband controller setup
How to setup a guitar and a drum controller
Setting up controllers is very easy in JAMband and should only take about 15 seconds each controller. However, there are several ways to make a mistake if the directions aren't followed precisely. Please pay close attention to each instruction on-screen and go slowly the first time you set up a controller. Once your controllers are set up, the game will remember these settings unless they are unplugged from your computer. For best results, please unplug all other USB gaming controllers except the 1 or 2 you plan on using for JAMband.
From the JAMband main menu, select the controller setup button. You will see the screen below. Move the cursor over the number "2" and select it by clicking the mouse button.
You will now see the screen below. Move the cursor over the drum icon which is located under the number "2" and select it by pressing the mouse button. The drum icon should now be highlighted as shown below. Click "continue".
The screen below should now appear. Only press the buttons on the guitar at this time, do not press or play the drums. Using your guitar controller, press different colored fret buttons and if no guitar sound is heard, click the "change port" text and try pressing the colored fret buttons again. If no guitar sound is heard, click the "change port" text again and press the colored fret buttons. Repeat this until you find a port that you can hear a guitar sound while pressing different fret buttons on your guitar controller. Once you hear a guitar sound when pressing the buttons, you can click the "I can hear my instrument... click HERE..." to continue.
You can now setup the buttons for your guitar. Follow the on-screen directions precisely to set up each button, then select the "click HERE to continue" text. Go slow the first time you do this to make sure you read and understand the instructions for each button.
After all the guitar buttons are assigned, you will automatically enter the "Drum Controller Manual Setup" screen as seen below. Now, strike different drum pads and listen for a drum sound from your computer. If there is no drum sound, then select the "Change Port" text. Now try again to strike each drum pad. If there is no sound, change the port again and repeat this until you find a port that makes a drum sound when a drum pad on your controller is hit. When you hear a drum sound, select the "I can hear my drums! Click HERE to continue" text.
You should now see the screen below that displays the colored drum pads and the kick pedal. Follow the on-screen directions precisely to set up your drum controller.
You will strike each drum pad as indicated by the on-screen directions. After you strike each pad, the "Click HERE to continue" text will appear, allowing you to select it to continue.
When you see this screen, you have finished setting up your controllers! Congratulations! Now select "Finished" on the bottom right of the screen. Play the game and enjoy!
